Over the River and Through the Mountains, To the Andrale's House We Go.

Image
About a month ago, we visited Emile Andrale's (our translator) family at their mountain house. Getting to the place proved to be quite tiresome; a 3 hour drive and an hour walk one way, but the scenery and time with his family was well worth it.  scroll for more text I spy with my little eye a woman on the mountain side! ...and yes this is a cake in the white box. Left to right: my dad, Emile's father and Emile  Left to right: my mom, Emile's father and Emile's wife who is currently expecting in 2 weeks! Unfortunately our time with them was cut short when it started raining! As much as I LOVE rain, walking down an incline in it and driving through a river after a good pour just says "bad idea". But we made it safely out and the rain created a beautiful foggy mist. While hiking I couldn't help but think about how amazing and creative God is. I mean just "WOW!" I also couldn't help but having the brilliant idea of fi...

Happy Easter Everyone! 💒

Image
On Saturday we followed our Easter tradition and colored eggs with the Peters. The result was an egg rainbow and a new stain on my shorts. Oh well, they tasted and looked great! ~ Easter Sunday ~ Grande Chorale de Christ Pour Tous performing this morning Lunch downtown at Cafe Kozy! After we arrived, a French family and some of their friends and another group of French speaking people came. It almost felt like we were in a cafe in France! That was before a group of elderly Americans showed up. The view from inside of the cafe displays the old coffee warehouses from the 1700s! We wish you a Happy Easter from our Haiti home to yours. God Bless; Bondye Beni Nou!

God's Healing

Image
Just over a month ago, the Lord led us to Chantal and her mother. Chantal is from Lavallee and goes to the Children's Hope school there. Two years ago she broke her leg, but an infection grew and spread and due to the expenses of health care, it never fully healed. She was taken to Dr. McGowan's clinic where she had surgery to clean the wound out. For the past couple of weeks she has been receiving antibiotics and regular dressing changes. Also Magdala (the school manager) has been helping Chantal keep up with her schooling. We are hoping and praying that the infection has cleared and that her skin will heal over the cut. It truly is a miracle how her leg has healed!  Chantal and her mother Doggie Update! After Jackie Chen's tragic death we have had the joy of her puppies! They already look so much like her at the age of 12 weeks (or something like that). I have taken the responsibility to name them all: Caffrey, Old Man #2 (before finding out she was really a gi...
